It is essential for a Christian to know his SAVIOUR & LORD more and more, that constitute believer's growth.

HYPOSTATIC UNION

01. Hypostasis means standing together under one essence, two things united under one with no loss or transfer to the other and no change to either.
In the person of Jesus Christ the two natures, divine and human, were inseparably linked with no loss or transfer of properties or attributes, and no mixture or loss of separate identity the union was personal and eternal.

The Lord Jesus Christ is still perfectly human and divine

03. The incarnate person of the Lord Jesus Christ included undiminished deity; He remained co equal and co eternal with the father while on earth. As a baby in the cradle he was holding the universe together.

04. The Lord Jesus Christ was also true humanity; body, soul and spirit although due to the virgin birth he had no old sin nature (1 Peter 2:22 ).

05. The two natures were united without transfer of attributes; the Essence of Deity and humanity were unchanged.

06. No aspect of the divine nature was lacking, although certain attributes were not exercised in line with the Father's plan (Matthew 4:1-10 ).

07. The union was personal and hypostatic; one essence with two natures.

08. Deity did not indwell humanity or possess it. The union was more than sympathy and harmony; it was unique combining the two natures eternally.

09. Christ had two natures in one person; therefore he could be supremely powerful yet weak at the same time.
a) Deity cannot be tempted, humanity can (Matthew 4:1-10 ).
b) Deity cannot thirst, humanity can (John 19:28 ).
c) Deity is omniscient, humanity learns (Luke 2:40, 52 ).

10. The necessity of the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ is seen in the following:-
a) To be our Saviour he had to be man as God cannot die (Hebrews 2:14, 15, Philippians 2:7, 8 ).
b) To be our mediator He had to be equal with both God and man (Job 9:2, 32-33, 1Timothy 2:5-6 ).
c) To be our High Priest He must be a man (Hebrews 7:4,5 14-28; 10:5, 10-14 ).
d) To be a king he must be a man, a Jew in the line of David (Psalm 89:20-37, 2 Samuel 7:8-16 ).

11. There are three categories of sayings or actions of the Lord:
a) From his deity alone - John 8:58
b) From his humanity alone - John 19:28
c) From his hypostatic union - John 11:25-26

12. The uniqueness of the person of the Lord Jesus Christ is a key doctrine to understand for all believers, for it is on this point that the accurate preaching of the gospel rests (1Timothy 3:16 ).

13. The gospel in one word is Immanuel - God with us. John's testimony on this point - John 1:14. In Christ we see God's love and favour towards man. As God revealed himself in the Old Testament, so He perfectly reveals himself in the person of the unique person of the universe, the God man the Lord Jesus Christ.

MARK 8:36-37:

THESE TWO VERSES CARRIES GREATER VALUE (WORTH) ABOUT EVERY SINGLE SOUL. THAT IS WHY IN JOHN 3:16 we find that God so loved the world, not the material world neither the system or the religiosity of it but the souls in it.

Again the above two verses are TWO GREAT QUESTS from the mouth of the UNIQUE PERSON, Who is GOD-MAN (Hypostatic Union). The triune God in the Second Person Christ became flesh and blood and walked on the earth which He created for a purpose. Whom we call JESUS CHRIST. He talks about "profit" "forfeiting" "life (soul)" "ransom or redemption" "compensation". All these are utmost important to ponder about. We also need to ask several questions in the light of these verses.
1) Is it possible to gain the whole world?
2) Do I value myself in the proper scriptural perspective?
3) What is LIFE (SOUL) Matt 16:26?
4) Do I value what I see around me in the proper way?
5) Do I spend my whole life span in gaining the riches of the world or winning souls?
6) What does satisfy me, the pleasures of this world or something that has greater worth?
7) What do I long for in my inner man?
8) What do I value more in my inner man?
9) What place have I given Christ Jesus in my life?

Emperor Alexander, who almost conquered the entire world at his death asked his hand to be put out of the coffin to tell the world that he carries nothing what he gained or conquered. Yes, that is the end result of the pursuit of running behind gaining the whole world but losing his own soul.

JESUS CHRIST THE TRUE BREAD OF LIFE FROM HEAVEN: John 6:32-38

Lord Jesus Christ here affirms that He is the TRUE MANNA sent from heaven by His Father, to the unbelieving religious crowd. They were thinking, God gave their forefathers manna from heaven to ate in the wilderness through Moses (often the old sinful nature causes men to fix their eyes on human folk whom they behold, not unto God of heaven and earth). All the religious leaders still esteem Moses better than Jesus. Often the servants of God (I am not generalizing, but many do that even today) put themselves in the place of Moses and reduce the glory that is due to CHRIST JESUS. Religious leaders of those days were looking unto Moses whom Father God appointed for a purpose. But their vision could not go beyond Moses (mortal man) to put the faith in the God who was providing them in the wilderness.

Jesus Christ emphatically affirms that it was neither Moses nor the Manna were true (could be shadow, because law was only a shadow of the good things to come Heb 10:1), but "I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE" descended from heaven above to give LIFE (not the life that is in the blood Lev 17:11 - but a higher order life "ZOE" which Adam and eve forfeited at fall) to the whole world.

Jesus Christ is the TRUE MANNA (Bread) who give the TRUE LIFE to the world to as many as those who truly believe in Him. Bible says, He himself is the true God and ETERNAL LIFE (personified) 1John 5:20. Jesus Christ is the only MEDIATOR between God and any man. None beside Him can assume that place or position 1Tim 2:5. Anyone who does so, his/her end result may be awful for misleading and misguiding the souls to eternal doom. For Jesus Christ thus answered, in John 14:6-7 one of His apostles to question the put to Him. Let Jesus Christ be to you all in all.

PSALM 01

(THE WAY OF THE RIGHTEOUS)

PSALM 127

(UNLESS THE LORD DOES)

1) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2) It is vain for you that ye rise up early, and so late take rest, and eat the bread of toil: for so he giveth unto his beloved sleep.
3) Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4) As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.
5) Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

PSALM 128

(FEAR OF THE LORD IS LASTING BLESSING)

1) Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD, that walketh in his ways.
2) For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
3) Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine, in the innermost parts of thine house: thy children like olive plants, round about thy table.
4) Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.
5) The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
6) Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children. Peace be upon Israel.
